Job Responsibilities
- Prepare milestones for all modules assigned for teaching.
- Prepare module teaching guides in the prescribed format.
- Actively participate in the weekly module meetings for all modules.
- Perform teaching duties in an exemplary manner.
- Performing assessment setting, marking and moderation (internal) of all assessments for modules assigned
- Participate in peer classroom observations as per requirement and enusre other performance evaluations are done.
- Participate in meaningful research, publication and conference attendance.
- Other duties as assigned by the faculty.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Masters Degree in Occupational Health and Safety.
- A minimum of 2 years post qualification experience teaching at a tertiary level.
- BQA Qualification evaluation report required.
- Possession of a teching qualification such as Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCHE), Post Graduate Diploma in Higher Education (PGDHE) or Masters in Higher Education (MHE) or a Master of Philosophy in Education and Training (MPhil LLL), is an added advantage.
Skills and Competencies required
- Must be a registered and qualified Assessor or Moderator.
- Must have proven experience in programme /curriculum development.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with a good command of English.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to coordinate and mentor projects and internships for students including liaison with local science institutions and Business industry.
- Maintain student records and execute various day to day administrative responsibilities involved with teaching.
- Continuously upgrade skills through self-study and work peers.
- Be a constructive member of the team.
- Research and publishing.
